Proud Moments Sponsored by the Mouse Killer

So I often poke fun of Debbie (my girlfriend, aka the Mouse Killer) on this blog, but I'd like to say I was proud of her a few times last week.

Moment #1: I'm a runner. Debbie is not. She couldn't be further from it, but she came home and decided that enough was enough, she was going to get off her butt become a runner. I've got her on a beginner's program, and she's now at running 1.5 minutes, walking two minutes, and doing it six times. Next run, she'll be going 1.5 and 1.5 seven times.

Her swearing has somewhat slowed down but she still occasionally throws punches at me and tries to kick me. But the best part is that she looked like a runner. Hair tied back in a pony tail, running pants, shirt and vest. Very sexy.

Moment #2: I'm a tree-hugger, granola muncher, environmentalist, conservationist, whatever you want to call me, I don't care. Debbie...is not. I'm always after her because she puts paper in with the plastic and aluminum recylcing bin, she doesn't buy organic (but does now), not really into social causes, and never really seemed to appreciate the natural world, it's beauty or importance.

The other day, she came home from getting groceries and firmly announced that we should no longer be buying individual servings of yogurt, when we could buy the larger ones and dish out our own individual servings because there would be less waste and each small container's top was made out of aluminum foil which typically didn't get recycled.

At that point, my bottom lip quivered and I gave her a big hug.

Welcome to the clan, Debbie!

I've been working on S. for years now and there are times where she'll actually 'out-green' me.

We'll change this world yet, I tell ya!

Oh, and about the running? My guess is Debbie just wants to be able to catch you and kick your ass whenever you make fun of her on your blog.

Well we all know who wears the pants in the relationship now.

kudos to mouse killer for the running. wish i could do that. living out here in BFE doesn't allow for much running unless you want to sprain your knee on the rocks, gravel or ruts in the road. (i'll use any excuse! LOL)

its hard to be green out here in BFE too. we don't have recycling and well, i don't have the gusto to sort it, have bins to organize it and someplace to put it all THEN take it to Ashley's (they buy everything from fur to propane tanks) I must say tho, I do have only one big bag of trash every two weeks . . . i put my kitchen ones in a big 33 gallon bag on the porch trash can and take it to mom's every other week.

keep your eyes peeled out up there when you step outside of your igloos . . . there was a huge solar flare and supposed to be some killer northern lights . . .
